Hunger Call to Action! September 9-15, 2012
A coaliton of agencies and people interested in hunger came together in August 2011 to talk about hunger in our community and to see if they could work together for a common cause. A week of giving September 9 - 15, 2012 helped collect $10,000 and over 3,000 lbs of food from local food drives. After the week of giving over $6,000 of grants went out to local food ministries and $2,500 began an endowment fund for hunger. The group believes the week was a success and agreed to work on to make material changes to the distribution system that exist for food and for those trying to assist those in great need in our community.
