Programs & Initiatives of the Foundation

Family Economic Success:  This initiative began in May 2004 with a $10,000 grant from the Aspen Institute and the Annie E. Casey Foundation.  This initiative focuses on bringing the tools to low-income individuals and families that will help them build assets and rise out of poverty.  The “Campaign for Working Families” is the name of the initiative that is a collaboration between key community partners like: United Way of Volusia/Flagler counties, Workforce Development Board, One Stop Career Centers, IRS, FDIC, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, SunTrust and more.  The campaign provides:  Money Smart Financial Education classes for families, free tax preparation, and connection to other community resources for working families.

We provide a key leadership role in this coalition.  In August 2005 the Annie E. Casey Foundation gave us a $12,000 grant to continue and expand this work.

Several million dollars in tax returns are processed by volunteers each year for low income individuals.  If you have a desire to help in tax preparation, or education classes please.
